C2S members met at the barracks of the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars Squadron, Royal Wessex Yeomanry in Cirencester on Thursday evening. They listened to Major Justin Crump speak about world affairs. An amazing overview which put into context some of what is happening across the globe. Justin has over 20 years experience in the military seeing active service in the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan, and a tour as the personal staff officer to the Duke of Westminster. He is also a former investment banker and management consultant, before founding Sibylline. Justin is the commander at the reservist unit at Cirencester but spends much of his time in London and the USA.
It was an extraordinary opportunity to listen to such a well informed insight into what is happening across the globe as Justin provided an overview of 10 Key Themes that he and his team track and inform their clients and various government bodies around the world. Justin then concentrated on Theme 3 Global Jihadism. It was one of the most insightful, fascinating and thought-provoking sessions we have heard in a long time and it was an 'excellent, fluent and spell-binding delivery' said one of the audience. 'What a GREAT presentation %u2013 I am so pleased I made it' said another member.
A big thank you also to C2S member Carla Morris Papps from Cotswold Barristers, who is also a reservist based at Cirencester and who introduced us to Justin.
Justin has also just had a book published on corporate security intelligence
