Two members of staff from Ashchurch-based manufacturer, Tungum Ltd, joined thousands of fellow participants to take part in the Cheltenham Half Marathon on Sunday 25 September, raising £665 for a local charity.
Managing Director, Ian Johnstone, led the charge, completing the 13.1 mile course in two hours and one minute, with Credit Controller, Alison Keen, not far behind. The Tungum twosome ran in aid of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, a Gloucestershire branch of the Sue Ryder charity, that provides hospice and neurological care for people facing a frightening, life-changing diagnosis. Alongside expert medical care, its team provides emotional support and practical elements to help patients and their families at the most difficult time of their lives.
With the encouragement of the Tungum team and urged on by the knowledge that wed raised money for a great cause, our hard work and training has really paid off. Id like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to cheer us on during the day and to those who contributed towards our fundraising total.
