Exterion Media, Europes largest privately held Out-of-Home advertising business, has a nationwide portfolio with key sites in and around London. It was a holder of a concessions contract for advertising on the London Underground, licensed by Transport for London (TfL).
In 2015 TfL started the renewal process on the concession, worth £2billion over eight years, and opened it up to competitive bidding. At the same time, Exterion Media recognised that they required assistance on the Environmental and Sustainability elements of the tender.
Sustainable Direction was retained by Exterion Media in August 2015 and through dedicated support and close liaison, Sustainable Direction together with Exterion Media developed the tender submission with respect to sustainability and reducing environmental impacts, bringing existing initiatives to light and helping Exterion Media communicate the things they were already doing and improving for real business impact.
Exterion Media was successful in being awarded the £2billion contract in March 2016. Exterion Media said:
