Dame Janet Trotter, The Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire invited guests on behalf of the Wessex Reserve Forces & Cadet Association to attend an evening at the Army Reserve Centre.
Over 60 business people; dignitaries and military personnel came together to hear speakers including an update on the economy of Gloucestershire from Dr Diane Savory OBE DL; the police approach to cyber crime - Richard Berry, Assistant Chief Constable and a hugely informative and motivating presentation from Jon Beake; Regional Employer Engagement Director, Wessex RFCA on the positive impact reservists can have on all of our businesses. The audience also heard from Rifleman Lewis Pollexfen on what being a reservist means to him and how it helps in the workplace.
Dame Janet then presented 6 local businesses with Defence Employer Recognition Awards - Bronze Awards including C2S members Renishaw;Tayabali Tomlin and Circle2Success.
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme was launched by the Prime Minister in July 2014 to recognise and reward UK employers for their support and commitment towards the armed forces. We were extremely proud to accept the award.
