On Friday morning C2S members and guests come together to listen to 2 sides of the argument on staying in the EU or leaving the EU. A vote was conducted at the beginning of the briefing session with 24% of the audience voting to Stay In; 11.5% voting to leave and 16.4% as yet undecided. We heard first from Neil Carmichael MP on the case to stay and then Tom Atkinson, Chairman of Simplicity on the case to leave. The audience were then invited to ask questions. The overviews from each candidate had obviously stimulated the audience as there was over 30 minutes of astute questioning and insightful observations. The vote at the end showed a small move to the Stay camp with 32.9% voting To Stay; 9.8% To Leave and 9.8% To Stay. The largest area of concern for either augment was Economic and Business Growth with over 30% citing this; followed by 11.6% for Immigration/Migration.
We thank our speakers for taking the time to talk to us. It is such an important vote that we need to be clear and confident that we are making the right decision for future generations.
